This project included a live client and site in which had already been measured and proposed to myself as a unused space with potential of a new retail concept in the heart of London. Placed in Fulham road, the building is uniquely shaped.

Overall my concept is to ease circulation around this new retail store and act as a main unit for exhibiting products and collections of unique Scandinavian designers.

In detail, I wanted to explore the balustrade and floor where the original structure meets the new material placed into the store.

This model explores the junctions I developed in my sketchbook and helped evidence the material selection for this detail to the store concept. The CAD examples also helped explain my thoughts behind the junctions of the detail concept, material selction and scale of the detail to an extent that shows dimension and spatial connection.
In my final model I kept the original structure, shown as Styrofoam, exposed to enhance the thickness of this certain element and hide the any additional material such as un-needed plasterboard and flooring covering the main material in this detail concept.
